Frequently Asked Questions

A typical or standard home inspection should include an inspection of the following items:

  • Foundations, basement, and structural elements
  • Roof, attic, visible insulation
  • Central heating and air conditioning systems
  • Walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors
If the buyer agrees to an inspection, he or she may choose a licensed inspector to conduct a thorough assessment of the property and verify the absence of hidden problems or defects.
The presence of a seller during the home inspection can be an impediment to success. Sellers can interfere with the inspection, unintentionally or by trying to help the inspector. They may disrupt communication between the buyer and inspector with their presence.
